This term in SportsFun we will work more on hand eye coordination, working out the gross motor muscles and team work through a series of team games and individual activities.

Some of the games we will introduce to the children are Human Tic Tac Toe, Number Octopus, Beach Ball Says, Planet Hop, Hula Hoop Hopscotch, and Ball Colour Sort just to name a few. Through these games the children will also be exposed to a variety of educational components as well, such as letters, shapes, colours, numbers and a few basic sight words.

And as always the last 2 weeks of SportsFun will be an obstacle course – where the children will put to use all the skills they have learned over the 7 weeks with us into play.

We hope that your children will continue on with us through the Winter term of SportsFun and we hope to also see some new faces as well.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Coach Kade has been an important member of the Homework Club at PCA for the last 8 years. He has worked with students aged 3-10 and enjoys helping them learn, grow and meet their developmental milestones. Coach Kade also enjoys playing all sports and has proven to be an excellent leader as he is an integral player in his basketball league as well as coaching a little league soccer team in York Region. In his spare time, he enjoys running marathons, expanding his collection of exclusive sneakers, training in the professional art of Muay Thai, and he has recently picked up the challenging sport of golf! Fun fact Coach Kade loves tacos!

Coach Kendell is the newest member of the SportsFun family. He has coached in a few other basketball camps such as Concrete Hoops and Grass Roots Canada but most of his formal training comes from his time playing basketball at Christian Life Preparatory School and South Plains Christian College in Texas. Coach Kendell brings expertise and fun to the court each day and looks forward to building relationships and working alongside each kid that steps onto the court. In his down time he enjoys cooking – he loves lasagna and playing chess. Fun fact Coach Kendell is Coach Kade’s younger brother!

Coach Jaiyah is a significant member of the SportsFun family. The energy she brings to the gym matches the children’s energy. Coach Jaiyah is very athletic and a true team player. She enjoys working with young children and connects with each of them at their level. She has been a part of the PCA community in various roles; a student (since ELC), volunteering in the ELC and PCA’s summer camp. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, softball and is currently working on her black belt in Karate. Fun Fact Coach Jaiyah’s favourite food is Ramen.

The coach’s love for sports and activities will be an asset as they teach the fundamentals of each sport to your children. Your child will not only gain an understanding of the basics of each sport, but learn how to work together as a team, play fair and overall have fun with each other.
