About This Art Piece: The Artist’s Statement

I would like others to see how wonderful God’s creation is, even though we might not notice it all the time. He carefully created each animal with care, giving them individual traits that make them special. So despite the fact that these are animals that we might not see often, it’s crucial to protect them just as how God has done with us.

The thing that inspired me to create this art piece are those science posters of marine animals. I liked the layout of each animal and how they were placed. I used many of those posters as references.

The process: I really like painting the background, even though it took me several attempts and lots of help. Painting the animals and outlining was very satisfying, as it meant that I was almost done with the artwork. Splattering neon paint onto the canvas was fun but messy. Overall, I really enjoyed the process of creating this piece.
