Today was our last day of ministry with the children of Carmen Bajo. A number of students had the opportunity to share their testimonies of how they came to truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for their salvation. One student preached a sermon from the life of Jonah.
At the end of the day, we were able to gather with all the children and teens and express our thanks to the individuals who cared for us while we were in Quito. The pastor of the church had us huddle together and he prayed a prayer of blessing over us, asking that God would allow us to return in His time.
Of course, leaving was challenging. Even though we have only been here for a few days, our students made real bonds of love with the children.
Tonight we will be debriefing our week. Tomorrow, we will be visiting Ciudad Mitad del Mundo which literally translates to “Middle of the World.” This is a significant attraction just north of Quito. It is a monument which demarcates the equator. (Ecuador is named after the Equator because the Equator runs through the country). I suspect many photos will be taken tomorrow of students having one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and the other foot in the Southern hemisphere!
Thank you for your support and prayers.
