Today, our team attended Sunday service at Buen Pastor. Mr. Chung shared a message about Jesus being tempted in the wilderness from Luke 4 and two of our students shared their salvation testimonies. It was truly a joy and a blessing to be able to worship God together with our Ecuadorian brothers and sisters.
After lunch with the church members, our team led face-painting and crafts with the children. Following this, we were all surprised with a “Despedido (Farewell) Party” with balloons, streamers, and lots of music and laughter. It was certainly quite the experience!
Our time with our Buen Pastor brothers and sisters came to an end with the presentation of personalized gifts from the church to our team, speeches, and a very moving time of prayer during which the Buen Pastor members came and prayed at our feet to bless us on our way. We were so incredibly touched and our hearts were full. It was sad to say goodbye to these brothers and sisters who we grew so close to after just a few short days but we all reminded each other that we will all see each other again in heaven (where we will have no need for translators).
We ended our Sunday with a visit to the Artisan Market to purchase souvenirs and gifts for our donors.
Tomorrow, we can look forward to spending some time to reflect and have alone time with God at a retreat centre. Please pray that God will help our team to process our experiences so far and to prepare ourselves for ministry at Cristo Liberador (another church in Quito.
