Today was our last day sharing the gospel in public schools in the morning, as well as our last day of Kids Club in the afternoon. We had the privilege of sharing at Corner Lake Middle School, once again partnering with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and Christian teachers in these public schools for an open door to minister to grade 6 to grade 8 students. It was wonderful to encourage the Christian community in this school and to be encouraged by their delight in our presence and their attentiveness to all that we had to say about the glory of God.
The last day of Kids Club featured the biblical narrative of Cain and Abel, teaching the children that God accepted Abel’s offering, and ultimately that God accepts us due to Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. At the end of our daily session of action songs, bible verses, object lessons, and the sketchboard narrative, we had the opportunity to share the entire gospel with the children in small groups, using a small booklet filled with meaningful visuals. We are thankful for the precious opportunity to make plain the mystery of the gospel to these children! We also gave out last day prizes to the children who were most well-behaved, attentive, and participatory.
Both Kids Clubs were also able to make meaningful connections with parents of the children, and we are hoping that a good number of these families will be joining us for Orlando Children’s Church tomorrow morning. Please continue to keep these families in our prayers!
